WebP is excellent on the web, where its smaller files make pages faster. Off the web its support thins out: older photo editors, some email clients, government and job-application upload forms, and plenty of desktop software still expect JPG or PNG. Converting a saved WebP to JPG makes the image open everywhere, which is usually the whole point.
Both WebP and JPG are usually lossy formats, so a high quality setting (the default here is 90%) keeps the difference invisible in normal photos. One thing JPG cannot do is transparency: if your WebP has a transparent background, the converter fills it with white rather than black. If you need the transparency kept, convert to PNG instead.
